Paul J. Zamitis, Jr., 77, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday morning, December 30, 2009 in the Life Care Center of Leominster after an illness. Paul was born February 25, 1932, son of the late Paul and Mary (Kudzma) Zamitis and has been living in Gardner for over 32 years. He married his beloved wife Loretta M. (LeBlanc) Zamitis May 27, 1972. Together they have shared 37 years of marriage. Paul is a graduate of Bailey Tech. he worked with Ken Stewart Transmissions as a certified ASE Master Mechanic. Paul was a member of the Gardner Rifle and Pistol Club, a former member of the Winchendon Lions Club, and a member of the Artisan Lodge of Masons in Winchendon. Paul was a motorcycle enthusiast who loved to travel. He joined the Goldwing Rider's Association, and along with his wife traveled all over. Paul was an accomplished musician. He played the accordion, and the pedal steel guitar. Over his life time Paul was a member of many country and polka bands, most notably the Country Jays and Nashville Country. Besides his wife Paul will be sadly missed by two daughters; Orlette Jaillet of Gardner, and Mary B. Parenteau of Ashburnham, MA, one son; Clifford J. Zamitis of DeMotte Indiana, two sisters; Mary Cole of Virginia Beach, VA, and Anne Adelizzi of Gore, OK, one sister in-law; Sister Pauline LeBlanc of Methuen, MA, one brother in-law; Joseph LeBlanc of Gardner, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. At Paul's request, funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West St., Gardner in the spring. Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, MA 01440 is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements.
