Mrs. Paula R. Bruce

Bruce, Paula Ruth, of Wichita, KS., entered into rest Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Paula was predeceased by her parents, Paul (Pete) Lightner and Hazel Haller; step-mother, Leone Lightner; daughter, Paulette Webb; sister, Phyllis Lamb; step-son, Steven M. Bruce. Paula is survived by her loving husband of almost 44 years, Herbert D. Bruce; step-son, Douglas D. Bruce; seven grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Ian K. Edmiston, Paul K. Edmiston, Cambrianne Harris, Dylan H. Bruce, Angela Bruce, Lucas K. Bruce, Erik N. Bruce; six great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Paula was an accomplished horsewoman, licensed private pilot and longtime hospital volunteer. Paula stayed young by always attending university adult education classes. Paula had a wonderful smile for everyone and was a beautiful woman inside and out. Paula was always a lady. Paula graduated cum laude from Wichita State University in 1992, receiving special recognition as the year's oldest graduate. Funeral Service: Monday, November 7, 2011, 10am, at Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Humane Society in the loving memory of Paula.
