Pauline E. Hoch, 81, of Remsen, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. She was born on June 15, 1931, in Utica, a daughter of the late Stanley and Emily Zech Conover. She graduated from Whitesboro High School. She married Kurt L. Hoch in 1976, in Boynton Beach, FL. She worked as a banquet waitress for 12 years at Twin Ponds and later worked for Valley Graphic Printers. She was a former member of the Alpha Beta Gama Sorority and the Olive Branch Garden Club. She was adopted by the Lakota Sioux Tribe in 1991 and was very proud of her Native Indian Heritage. She is survived by her husband, Kurt; daughter, Susan Weston of AZ; stepchildren, Gretchen Makowski and her husband, Mark of Grand Island, NY and Lee Hoch and his wife Nina of Europe; six grandchildren; sister, Marlene Schaffer and her husband, Larry; several nieces and nephews and a native sister, Brenda Sue Lytle of SD. The funeral will be on Monday at 10:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main St., Whitesboro. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00.
