Pauline Jane (Walker) Bowers, 92, of Little Rock, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at Baptist Health Medical Center. Mrs. Bowers was born March 20, 1919, in Strawberry, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Alfred Theodore and Martha Jane (Milligan) Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Bowers, who died in December of 1987; her brothers, Paul, Roy and Ray Walker.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene, and remembered by her family as a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend; and truly was exemplary of Proverbs 31. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Survivors are her children, Peggy Jane Hamm and husband Gene of Greenwood, Arkansas; James Gordon Bowers and wife, Lynda of Maumelle; David William Bowers and wife Paula of Benton; a sister, Lois Doyle of Armona, California; grandchildren, Cynthia Jane Elkins , Sandra Jean Waters , Celeste Hoskins, Justin Bowers, Shane and Shawn Jacobsen, Shannon Condie, Sharon Hyche; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Victoria Waters; Andrew and Loryn Elkins; Brook and Blaire Bowers; Mattea, Abby Grace, Taylor, Amanda and Jessica Hoskins; and a number of nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Rodney Shanner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th Street, Little Rock. 501-661-9111.
