Pauline (Williams) Kornegay was called to her heavenly home on October 1, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Rev. Larry Butcher of Houston, Texas officiating. Interment will follow at Hix Cemetery in Burleson County, Texas under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell. Rev. H.O. Bilderback will sing the special music during the service. Pauline was born September 17, 1923 to Lee and Euda Williams, in Rita, Texas. She was the third of eight siblings, four brothers and three sisters. She married David Charles Kornegay on June 21, 1952. The couple made their home in Sweeny, Texas where she lived until 2008. Pauline worked for Dow Chemical and Sweeny I.S.D. and was a faithful member in the First Baptist Church of Sweeny. Pauline enjoyed quilting, scrabble, card games and reading. She spent many an hour playing Solitaire on her computer, although her favorite game was forty-two. She was a skillful player and enjoyed playing many a game with her family and friends. She was an avid fan of Fox news and was passionate about politics and religion. Her favorite book was the Bible and had read it through many times. Pauline was a devoted wife and mother and was delighted when she became a grandmother for the first time at the age of 84. She loved spending time with family, especially her three year old grandson, Dylan who brought her great joy. She is survived by her daughter, Terri "TK" Kornegay of Caldwell, Texas, her son David "Kent" and wife Dawn Kornegay, grandson David Dylan, six siblings, Billie Mac and wife Earline Williams of Houston, Texas, Edward F. Williams of Caldwell, Texas, Shirley and husband Lou Eberspacher of Angleton, Texas, Martha Philp of Freeport, Texas, Lonnie L. and wife Brenda Williams of Caldwell, Texas, Patsy and husband A.J. Hebert of Palacios, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Rankin Lee "Pat" Williams.
