Paulyne N. Lester was born October 3, 1922, in Spiro Oklahoma to Willis and Vera (Chrestman) Nelson. She was a graduate of Spiro High School then attended Eastern State Teachers College. She worked in California for the Kaiser Ship Building Company during WWII and then was employed by Shanahan Insurance and Finance in Poteau for several years.In 1994, Paulyne married John W. "Bill" Lester. They lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas for several years then Paulyne and "Bill" moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2002, to be closer to her son.She is survived by her husband, John W. "Bill" Lester of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one son, Michael W. Strange and his wife Tarre of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister, Ramona Redwine of Spiro, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Spiro First Baptist Church and a member of the Easter Star Spiro Chapter #144.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Stearl Nelson
