Pedro Lugo, age 61, of Utuado, Puerto Rico, formerly of East Chicago, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at St. Margaret Hospital, Hammond, IN. Pedro is survived by his wife, Inocencia; 4 children: Saul Lugo, Michael Lugo, Noemi Marie (Gerardo) Acevedo and Pete Lugo, Jr.; 3 step-children: Carlos Merced, Julio Merced and Omayra (Jairid) Starbuck; 3 brothers: Fabio Lugo, Reyes Lugo, and Rafael Lugo; 4 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held early next week at Utuado Memorial Funeral Home, Utuado, Puerto Rico (telephone: 787-894-2290) with burial at Nueva Jerusalem Cemetery in Utuado. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN
Pedro was retired from Inland Steel after 31 years of service. Upon his retirement, Pedro returned to Utuado, Puerto Rico, the city of his birth. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Please omit flowers.
