Bond, Peggie Sue Phelps—age 81 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at NHC Healthcare. She was a loving wife and mother who made her family a priority. She gave sacrificially to provide for their spiritual, physical and emotional needs. She was a faithful member of Smithwood Baptist Church. Preceded in death by sons, Bradley Bond and Brian Bond; mother, Maxie Phelps. Survived by husband of 60 years, Jack E. Bond; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Ted Holmes; son, Mark E. Bond; grandchildren, Jennifer Tedder, Lindsay Hodges, Megan Holmes, and Griffin Bond; sisters, Wanda Phelps of Knoxville and Nancy Scruggs of Huntsville, AL. Family and friends will meet 3:15 p.m. Friday, March 18 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a 3:30 p.m. graveside service and interment. Dr. David Crutchley officiating. Serving the family of Mrs. Bond, Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
