Peggy Humphrey, 58, of Mansfield, passed away early morning Thursday, April 30, 2009 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born March 6, 1951 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Virgil and Althea (Gardner) Humphrey. She graduated from Madison High School in 1969. Peggy was a volunteer for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and also for United Way. A crafter, she enjoyed making jewelry and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling and the weekends she spent scrapbooking with her sisters. Peggy was a member of Stampin Up as a demonstrator. According to her son, she was the best mom. Always up for anything, she lived her life to the fullest. Peggy loved her two dogs and cat.
She is survived by one son, Keith (Rachael) Westler of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Mallorie, and Mitchell; two sisters, Melanie (Rob) Jerome of Columbus, and Melinda Gilmore of Mansfield; mother, Althea (Gardner) Humphrey of Mansfield; "little sister", Trudy Coffman of Ashland; pets, Taz, Smokey, and Gizmo; and four nephews, Gus and Sam Jerome, both of Columbus, Russ Daley of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Ron Daley of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Humphrey.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
