Peggy Jeane Stokes was born September 30, 1929 to Cleo and Frances Martin outside Slater, MO and died December 23, 2011 at Hospice Care in the North Kansas City Hospital. Peggy leaves behind her beloved husband, Marvin E. Stokes and 5 children, Sandy Wiley, Sue Gonzalez, Bud Stokes, and the twins, Sherry and Terry Stokes along with their spouses; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Jo Ann Sousley; and brothers, Tyke, Bobby, and baby brother, Ronald Martin and their extended families. Peggy worked 34 years as a cook and cafeteria manager at Maple Park Middle School in the North Kansas City School District. She took pleasure in her job and provided lots of good food to the young people she served. She dearly loved her family. Peggy will be deeply missed.
Funeral services are set for 2:30 PM Tuesday December 27, 2011 at White Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM at the funeral home.
