Penelope R. Lutz aka Penny, 69, of Cape Coral, FL died August 12, under the care of Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres. Penny was born in Shaverton, PA in 1942. Penny and her husband Kenneth G. Lutz were married 48+ years. She was a loving wife and mother to two children. Penny is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Beth Ann Ludewig and son-in-law Steven Ludewig of Lehigh Acres, FL, son David K, Lutz of Cape Coral, FL and sister Janice Durbin of Rochester Hills, Mi. Pre-deceased by her brother Harold J. Rose Jr.; her parents Harold J. Rose Sr. and Laura Rose of Harvey's Lake and Shaverton, Pennsylvania.
Penny graduated from Luzerne High School, Luzerne, Pennsylvania in 1960. She
graduated from Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre in 1963. She was
married in 1963 to Kenneth G. Lutz. Penny worked as a Registered Nurse in PA and NY and worked in several hospitals and nursing homes over her career. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and played at the Cape Coral and Fort Myers Bridge Clubs. She boated with the family for over 25 years and cruised the New England coast and Long Island Sound. She was a member of the Poughkeepsie Yacht club in Hyde Park, NY. The family spent many years camping at the New Jersey shore and the East Coast states. She was a member of Cape Coral First United Methodist Church for 6 years.
Penny had a genetic form of Muscular Dystrophy and long term disability. Donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers 33908 in Penny's memory.
