Peter B. Woodward, 62, of Loveland, passed away on October 1st, 2010. Pete was born July 22nd, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA to Mildred and Karl Woodward and grew up in Hamilton, Massachusetts. Pete came to Colorado in the 60s as a member of the USAF and attended the Air Force Academy. Pete and his first wife, Charlene Schlimme were married in 1969. They moved to the Loveland area in 1972 and had two sons, Pete II and Chris. Charlene passed away in 1983. Pete and Sharon Myers were married April 3rd 1987 and raised their combined family of 5 children west of Loveland. Pete was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years first as a scout and then as a leader and enjoyed every moment. Pete's passion was sailing. Anytime he could find water and spare a few moments, he could be found on his boat. For many years, Pete worked at West Shore Texaco in Loveland, eventually becoming a co-owner. Pete also worked at NAPA in Miliken, CO. Pete is survived by Sharon, his wife of 23 years, and by his children Peter B. Woodward II and fiancé Dee Stansberry of Greeley, CO, Chris and Summer Woodward, Bill and Sheri Myers, Ron Myers, all of Loveland, CO, and his grandchildren Jaden, Elizabeth, Annabelle, Kody, Keith, Samuel and Noah. Pete was preceded in death by his mother and father and his daughter Sherry Aldridge. A memorial service will be held at Heron Cove beach at Boyd Lake State Park on Tuesday, October 5th at 4:00PM. Heron Cove is North of the park entrance and the marina. Park entrance fees will be waived for the attendees. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 9, in care of Chris Woodward, 2253 Albany Court, Loveland, CO 80538.
