Peter Emanuel Sifneos, MD, Of Belmont passed away on December 9, 2008 at his home. He was 88 years of age.

Born in Lesbos, Greece, he was the son of the late Demetri and Maria (Lucas) Sifneos. Dr. Sifneos was an accomplished Psychiatrist, employed at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

He is survived by his former wives: Ann Coit Sifneos and Jane Paulson; his children: Ann Callahan, Peter Sifneos and Jeannie Sifneos; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Dr. Sifneos on March 27, 2009 at the Memorial Church of Harvard University.

He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
