Phoenix Det Lamb
March 23, 1932 – June 29, 2011

Sergeant First Class, Phoenix Det Lamb, United States Army, Retired, lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease on June 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM. We can all mark his battle, with this mighty enemy, as the most gallant and heroic fight in his storied, honorable, and purposeful life.He served America with the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War (2 Tours). The Army was his life, and he was a service connected disabled and decorated veteran, who made Alabama proud. Hoo ah! Hoo ah! His most remembered description of these eras was, “I looked the devil in the face, and I killed him”.Sergeant First Class Lamb was preceded in death by his loving wife Lillie Petty Lamb and his daughter He is survived by his son James Lamb and Step Children Carol Aikens of Athens, Donald McAnally of Huntsville, and Jerry McAnally of Knoxville, TN. He was loved by a very large extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the Valhalla Funeral Home, during visitation hours, 4 to 6 PM, on Satruday, July 2, 2011 with a grave side service on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM.
