Phyllis "Fuzzy" E. Helmke, 86, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Coventry Meadows. Born in Ft. Wayne, Fuzzy had faith in her God and was a member of First Missionary Church. She loved sports. Fuzzy was a Ft. Wayne Ping Pong Champion, runner up in Mix doubles, played fast pitch softball, and most recently enjoyed oil painting She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward E. Helmke; sons, Gary Helmke of Ft. Wayne and Larry Helmke of Portland, Oregon; sister, Dorothy Lochner of Ft. Wayne; and granddaughters Alex Ann and Kylee Lee Helmke. Fuzzy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Amstutz and brother, Dale Amstutz . Service is 2pm Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with Rev. Jim Johnson and Rev. Joe Snider officiating. Visitation from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm Monday at the funeral home.
