Phyllis Louise Penning

I'm so sorry to hear that our old friend from Paddington road has passed. I'll never forget the time my mom ( Joan Williams ) accidentally shut my fingers in a door on her way out to her job. Phyllis came over took me to her home and held me for what seemed for hours till I stop crying.And all the fun I had with Peggy. what fond memories I have and still hold dear to my heart.I still love y'all and take care. Your mom was my home economics teacher in high school @ K-Christian. She gave some of my 1st pointers in the kitchen! To this day, I still make sure my meals have a "good presentation" - not all the same colors!

I taught with Phyllis and worked in the Counseling office at Kalamazoo Christian High School with her for a number of years. Phyllis taught Home Economics and was loved by her students. She was a natural in the Counseling Office, because of her gentle nature and genuine interest in students. We spent many hours working together in the office. I have many fond memories of our times together and have often wondered where she had gone. I have great memories

Phyllis, Bill and I all became friends when I did activities at Eagle Crest Retirement in Myrtle Beach. What a fun loving great sport you were Phyllis when during one of the skits you got bombarded with confetti!! You didn't know it was coming and you laughed till it hurt! I miss surely miss you and my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My memories of Phyllis go back 75 years. They say old friends are the best friends and she certainly was one of the best. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Aunt Phyll was a sweet sweet aunt whom I adored so much. She helped me with making clothes during my high school years. I baby sat for her children one summer. I remember Uncle Bill and Aunt Phyll coming over to our house every Sunday afternoon to visit with coffee and cookies (usually homemade by my mom). Many many Thanksgiving days we spent together. I fondly remember going to her home for Christmas dinner (with my parents also) and the

I fondly remember going to her home for Christmas dinner (with my parents also) and the very next day going into labor with our first born. Uncle Bill and Aunt Phyll told me during dinner that day that I cannot have that baby in their home. I also remember helping Peg to give them a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party. SO MUCH FUN! After they moved to Florida, Conway, SC, and then to Avon Lake, OH, they spent many weekends with us when they returned to Michigan for a visit. My husbands' sisters had her for their Home Economics teacher at Kalamazoo Christian High School. She will always be remembered for her kindness and great teacher there as she taught for 18 years. I have so many fond memories, the last memory being the day I visited her on December 30, 2011. I know she wanted to talk to me but couldn't. My heart was broken for her. When we left, she was sitting in her wheel chair, and her hand was waving "good-by" to me, knowing it was the final "Good-BY". I loved her so much and look forward to the day when we will meet again in heaven.
