Phyllis Orlando Valdin passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the age of 79. A native of Kansas City, MO, she resided in New Orleans for the majority of her life. Phyllis was graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School and St. Mary's Dominican College, where she was salutatorian of her graduating class. She was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Church and a member of AARP Chapter 725 and the Busy Bees at St. Louis King of France. She was an employee of Hibernia National Bank for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Polito Orlando, her father, Dominic "Don" Carl Orlando, and her brother, Louis Don Orlando. She is survived by her husband, Guyton H. Valdin; her children, Dominic C. Valdin, Guyton H. Valdin, Jr., and Ann-Cheryl Valdin Hebert; and her grandchildren, Matthew G. Hebert, Nicholas M. Hebert, Christopher M. Valdin, and Madison C. Wulff.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.
