Phyllis R. Wofford, age 84, of Russellville died Monday, May 28, 2012 at her home. One of twelve children of the late John J. and Hildegard Newburg Halaska, she was born May 19, 1928 at La Crosse, Wisconsin. She moved to Arkansas in 1945 to marry her husband of over 64 years, the late Auzie B. Wofford. She worked at Fairway and OK Food Markets in Clarksville and Valley Food Market in Russellville. She bowled on a league for many years, was a proficient bridge player and enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jan Wofford of Conway; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Gerald Harvell of Russellville, Jayne and Tom Jones of Pottsville and Johnette and Charles Latham of Russellville; eight grandsons; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters; and several nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012, at St. John's Catholic Church officiated by Father Chuma Ibebuike. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Shinn Chapel, followed by the Rosary at 6 p.m.
