Mrs. Priscilla M. (Cheever) Shaw, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Melrose, at the age of 88.

Priscilla was born in Woburn on May 16, 1923, daughter of the late Louis Cheever and Elizabeth (Walker) Cheever. She was raised in Melrose where she graduated from Melrose High School. Priscilla worked as a clerk for several years before marrying Warren Shaw in October 1945.

Priscilla was a faithful woman both to her family and to her church. She was an active and dedicated member of the Green Street Baptist Church for many years. She took pride in being a homemaker, always providing for her children and later for her grandchildren. Her husband and four children will forever remember her as a great cook and for her constant love and support.

She was the beloved wife of Warren H. Shaw with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Douglas W. Shaw and his wife Janice of Westborough, Carolyn B. Zahares and her fiancé Roy Morrison of Saco, Maine, Candace D. Provencal and her husband Mark of Stoneham, and the late Kenneth L. Shaw. Dear sister of Phyllis Greene of Melrose, and the late Gwendolyn Smith and Lois McKenney. Cherished grandmother of Brian K. Shaw of West Brookfield, Lindsay A. Shaw of Westborough, Meagan Zahares of Saco, ME, and Matthew Provencal, Taylor Provencal, and Ryan Provencal, all of Stoneham. Loving great-grandmother of Jaymie, Faith, and Lillian Shaw, all of West Brookfield. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Priscilla's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, December 9 from 4-8 PM and again on Saturday morning at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St., Melrose where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9:30 AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
