Procopis John Damalas, 87, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away January 26, 2011, in his home in Virginia Beach, VA. A native of Limassol, Cyprus, he was the husband of Stella P. Damalas and a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Norfolk, Virginia. He is survived by two sons, Andreas Damalas and Tony Damalas (natives of Limassol, Cyprus) now of Virginia Beach, VA; and three grandchildren, Christos and Katerina, son and daughter of Andreas and Efi Damalas and Toni Michelle, daughter of Tony and Holly Damalas. He is also survived by one sister, Lella Kanaris; niece, Foulla Neokleous of London, England; and many cousins of Cyprus and England. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral with the Very Reverend Fr. Ambrose Bitziadis-Bowers, Dean and Rev. Constantine P. Rogakos officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Trisagion Service will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel at 6 p.m. on Sunday with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Annunciation Benevolent Fund c/o Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
