Quentin R. Niles, 91, of Windsor, affectionately known as “Q” by all his family and friends, beloved husband of Virginia (Heyburn) Niles, passed away Monday, (February 13, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born February 27, 1920 son of the late Elwyn and Martha (Chase) Niles he had lived in Windsor for the past 60 years. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Terry Steam as a pipe fitter. During his younger years he pitched for the University of Maine baseball team. Quentin loved golfing, bowling and watching the UCONN Women’s Basketball. He was the last of seven siblings. Besides Virginia, his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two sons, Quentin Niles, Jr. and his wife, Ellen of Bristol, Gary Niles and his wife, Lori of Windsor; a daughter, Grace Niles of Hartford; three grandchildren, Ryan, Brenda and Jeremy Niles.
