Rachel B. Wright, 89, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away, Friday January 28, 2011 at her home. She was born February 3, 1921 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Louis Weiler and Lucille (Bortz) Weiler. She was raised from two months by her adopted parents, Fred and Tillie Lindeman. Rachel lived in LaPorte all of her life. Rachel worked at A.B. Coddington Co. for twenty years and retired from Howmet after thirteen years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Rachel was an avid sports fan; her favorite teams were the Cubs and the Bulls. She bowled two times a week for thirty years. Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son - James Wright of La Porte, IN; daughter - Linda Funnell of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren - Jeff (Jennifer) Samm of La Porte, IN, Michael Funnell of La Porte, IN, Ryan (Amy) Wright of Indianapolis, IN, Tracy (Jeff) Miller of Burns Harbor, IN, and Kristie Pritchett of Chesterton, IN; twelve great grandchildren - Trent Samm of La Porte, IN, Skyler Kleine of La Porte, IN, Joslynn Funnell of La Porte, IN, Justin Wright of Chesterton, IN, Brandon Pritchett of Chesterson, IN, Emily Pritchett of Chesterton, IN, Logan & Megan Wright of Indianapolis, IN, Brieanne & Kayla Karriman of Burns Harbor, IN, Abby & Kyle Miller of Burns Harbor, IN. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lucille Weiler; adopted parents, Fred & Tillie Lindeman, and one sister, Mary Jane Grice. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, February 4, 2011 from 11:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ronald A. Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
