KOONTZ LAKE-Ralph D. VanBush, 83, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. Mr. VanBush was born December 10, 1926 in St. Charles, IL to Henry and Mary (Shellstreet) VanBush and lived at Koontz Lake for 30 years, coming from Chicago. Mr. VanBush was a former policeman for the City of Chicago, a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of St. Patrick Chruch, Walkerton, the Walkerton American Legion Post # 189 and the North Liberty VFW Post # 1954.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn, children, Jeffery VanBush of Chicago, Mary Sue (David) Flynn of Chicago, Evelyn Moceri of Worth, IL, Kathleen (Richard) Haggart of Alsip, IL, James (Mary Kay) VanBush of Chicago and Marea Paszek of Koontz Lake, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. (Central Time) at St. Patrick Church of Walkerton. Burial will follow at the Grovertown Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. CT and Thursday 10-10:30 a.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
