SEELEY LAKE - Ralph Warren Erickson passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, and went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Warren was born in Butte, October. 23, 1939, to Ralph Arthur Erickson and Winifred Catherine Branson Erickson. Warren spent his first five years at the family dairy ranch, The Milky Way, west of Butte. The family moved to Butte for a short time before living in Challis, Idaho. Again, when Warren was 8 years old, he moved with his parents and sister, Lynn, back to Butte where they resided through Warren’s high school years.

Warren married Diane Keto in 1957. They had three wonderful children together, Steven, Cindy and Todd. Warren served time in the Navy and upon his discharge, he and his wife and son moved to Seattle where they resided for some years. He and his wife later divorced.

In 1978, Warren married Denise Hardesty and together they had a daughter, Teresa. They later divorced.

Warren was a truck driver for most of his life but also worked at Stauffer Chemical Plant and for Boeing, retiring at Seeley Lake. Warren was a devoted father to his four children, and when he married his current wife, Shirley Hamilton Erickson, he loved his “adopted” children as well. Warren and Shirley spent 25 wonderful, fun-filled years together, surrounded always by family and their many friends.

The hours we spent together as a family, boating, camping, fishing, playing games, hunting, four-wheeling and snowmobiling will remain cherished memories of this wonderful man forever. Warren was a giving, affectionate, funny member of our family and we were forever entertained by his wonderful sense of humor. Warren’s wife and family were the most important part of his life and he gave us all a legacy we will treasure forever.

Warren was preceded in death by his son, Steven; his parents, Ralph and Winnie; his sister, Susan Travares; niece, Julie Fetters; and mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Lillian Nace.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Cindy (Rick) Smith; daughter, Teresa Adams; son, Todd and Sydney Erickson; step-children, Jody Bickford, Jay Bickford and Shelley (Jim) Anderson; sister, Lynn (Dale) Tinsley; brother-in-law, Dick and Florence Hamilton; step-mother, Gloria Erickson; stepbrother, Richard (Connie) Miller; grandchildren, Cole Adams and Chase Erickson, Ryan Sullivan, Mat Olin, and Marie Erickson, and John and Jake Anderson; nieces and nephews, Susan Tangmo, Kathy Tinsley, Dayle Janhunen, Dan Janhunen, Konni (Larry) Smith, Will Smith, Brooke Smith, Brent (Tina) Tinsley, Bryan Tinsley, Brittany Tinsley, Doug (Fran) Hamilton, Danny Hamilton, Dixie (Mike) Teague and Denita (Steve) Humphreys; numerous cousins; extended family members and friends.

His remains have been cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, in Butte at the Gold Hill Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at the church. Memorials may be sent to Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Butte, or Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Seeley Lake.
