Ralph Junior Davis
Ralph Junior Davis, 87, of Alderson, Formerly of Sophia, WV and Titusville, Florida, passed away at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley on Friday November 18, 2011
Born March 6, 1924 at Pageton Hollow Road, Anawalt, he was the son of the late William Grant and Florence Rose Hall Davis.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Maxine Barr Davis, his eldest son Dennis Ralph Davis and three brothers; Leonard, Elworth and James Charles Davis.
Mr. Davis was a coal miner for forty two years and worked for Slab Fork Coal Company. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was an avid fisherman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters; Rita Jean Taylor of Beckley and Vickie Susan Molinari and her husband Angelo of Calabash, NC; one son Richard Mark Davis of Titusville, Florida; four brothers; Clarence of Forest Hill, Howard and his wife Norma of Ravenswood, Warren of Shady Spring and Roger and his wife Rita of Beckley. Four sisters; Beulah Cochran of Forest Hill, Patsy Bennett of Lenora, Mae Marie Blevins and her husband Roy of Mountain City, Tenn. and Opal Canady and her husband Eugene of Ravenswood. Seven grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gene Terry officiating on Sunday, November 20, 2011, at 3:00 P.M.
Friends may call at 2:00 P.M., one hour prior to the services on Sunday. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr. Beckley WV 25801 in Memory of Mr. Davis.
