Ramona Corpus-Heath passed away peacefully on June 29, 2013 on what would have been her parent's 78th wedding anniversary. She was born on December 15, 1939. Was a native Austinite, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Ramona attended Palm School, Allan Jr. High, Stephen F. Austin High School, and graduated from Nixon Clay Business College. She was a fantastic singer, violin player, bookkeeper, typist, and shorthand taker (125 wpm).
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe B. Corpus; mother, Mary Esther Salazar Corpus; brothers, Julius Corpus, Jim Corpus.
Ramona is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Walter Heath; daughters, Yvonne Marie Heath, Debora Ann Heath; son, Robert James Heath; grandchildren, Bryan Anthony Heath, Natalie Alexis Heath; mother-in-law, Nellie Marie Heath; her brother and sisters, Jesse Joe Corpus Sr., Mary Esther Torres, Rose Corpus Miranda, Julia Corpus Ledesma, Dora Corpus, Gloria Howe, and Josephine Warren; her brother-in-laws; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Honoring Ramona as Pallbearers will be Bryan Anthony Heath, Robert James Heath, Stanley A. Torres, Stanley James Torres, Tony Miranda, and Jim Miranda.
Her charities, SmileTrain, UNICEF, JDRF, and American Cancer Society.
We would like to thank Hospice Austin - Christopher House for their kindness and support.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:30 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Reverend Bill Wack, CSC officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
