Mr. Randolph Collier Tapley, age 78, of Hampton, GA passed away December 5, 2011. Mr. Tapley was born in Jennings, FL the son of the late Author and Ethel Knight Tapley. He served his country in the US Army as a paratrooper from 1953-1956. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Tapley retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 39 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting, yard sales and traveling. Survivors are his wife, Norma Tapley of Hampton; children, Dale Tapley of McDonough and Denise Shaddix of McDonough; grandchildren, Brandon Shaddix of McDonough and Sally Tapley Harper of Jackson; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral service for Mr. Tapley will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. RicK Statham, Rev. Dan McKay and Rev. Bobby Swofford officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM.
