Raul G. Ortiz - Oxnard
Raul, also known as Pajo, was born Oct. 2, 1933 in El Paso Texas to the late Julia Garcia Hernandez. Graduated Oxnard High. He was in the Army. He was married to Sarah for 54 years. They had four children Raul (Stacy), Mark, Oscar and Julia (Steven). 8 grandchildren Steve Jr, Andrew, Andria, Amanda, Kim (Joe), Bubba, Eric, Julian and 10 great-grandchildren Braden, Kalob, Quiahuitl, Jewel, Alec, Jade, Sapphire, James, Simone, Ryann. His hobbies were running marathons, playing golf and later in life collecting rocks. He was always ready for a party. He enjoyed hanging out at the Rincon with family and friends. He also liked going to the swap meet with son Mark. He liked to go to the Derby club with Oscar. He enjoyed visiting Julia in Kentucky for the Derby. He liked taking trips to Ensanada to visit his goddaughter and their friends. He was retired from Oxnard Pipe and Supply. He was a member of the Maga. He was also a Member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with evening Vigil / Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23 at Santa Clara Mortuary, 2370 North “H” Street, Oxnard 93036. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, at Santa Clara Church 323 S. “E” Street, Oxnard. Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
