He grew up and was educated in Pierce, CO. He first came to Greeley in 1932. He married Hilma Carlson in 1933. They had two sons, Kenneth and Donald. Hilma passed away on April 5, 1952. Ray owned and operated the Snappy Lunch on 10th Street. After selling the cafe, he became a real estate broker and later worked for the City of Greeley until he retired in 1969. He married Marie Sutton in 1955. He and Marie moved to Longmont in 1969 where he was a real estate broker for many years. In the 1980's they moved to Arlington, TX then Mustang, OK until her death in 1986. Ray then returned to Greeley where he settled to make his home. Survivors include his sons, Kenneth & wife Joyce Martin of Arlington, TX and Don & wife Ann Martin of Glen Haven, CO; 2 stepsons, 1 stepdaughter and special friends, Dave & Peggy Glendenning. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandddaughter.
