Raymond Berg, 95, of Drake, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Sierra Vista Healthcare Center in Loveland. He was born on August 29, 1915 in Durham, KS, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Funk) Berg. He attended high school in Durham, KS. Raymond married Erlean Glantz in 1935 in Adams City, CO and also lived in Broomfield before moving to Drake in 1975. Raymond worked in the coal mines near Louisville, CO for a number of years. In the 1950's, he went to work for The Public Service Company from which he retired after 30 years. He was a life member of the Loveland Elks Club and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ray loved to water ski and skied up until he was 80 years old. He also loved the outdoors…especially hunting and fishing until his age caught up with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Erlean, and a son, Jerry Berg. He is survived by a son Ray (Cis) Berg of Brush, CO; a brother, Donald (Ginger) Berg of Iowa; grandchildren, Bart and Brett Berg and Brenda Guill; three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to the Big Thompson Volunteer Fire Department or SMERT (Storm Mountain Emergency Response Team) in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
