Raymond L. “Buck” Grady, 81, of 343 W. Bluff St., Marquette, passed away Thursday morning, November 10, 2011 at his home. Buck was born on July 29, 1930 in Big Bay, Michigan, a son of Martin and Florence (McKinney) Grady. An avid berry picker, Buck enjoyed cooking, baking, including his great Christmas bread, and woodworking. He loved watching Detroit Lions Football and Detroit Red Wings Hockey. At the time of his death, Buck was employed as a mail room clerk at The Mining Journal. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, the former Catherine “Kay” Reynolds whom he married on January 2, 1954 at St. Michael’s Church in Marquette; three children, Tom (Kathy) Grady of Marquette, Robert (Cindy) Grady of Woodstock, IL and Cathy (Dale) Grady of Toledo, OH; five grandchildren, Angelique Grady, Stephanie (Cory) Godfrey, Lorne Grady, Sheila Grady and Christy Grady; two sisters, Donna Hamilton and Rosemary Wilson; two brothers, James (Cookie) Grady of Halfway Location and Kenneth (Marsha) Grady of Cass City, MI; also several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was a nine year-old son, Timothy Grady in 1970. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home.
