Raymond P. True, 86, formerly of Gladstone, MO passed away Dec. 9, 2011 at Mo Vet Home in Cameron, MO.
Born Oct. 9, 1925 to James G. and Edna F. True in Osage City, KS. Raymond was drafted to the US Navy and served on the USS Windham Bay from 1943 till his discharge in 1946. On Jan. 24, 1947 he married Virginia Chatham and together they enjoyed 64 years of happiness. Raymond was an aircraft mechanic for 43 years with TWA until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Sherwood Bible Church and traveled with the church on numerous mission trips. Raymond had a servant's heart and was always helping others. Grandpa was the grandkids' best friend. Raymond was preceded by a granddaughter, Olivia F. True.
Survivors include, his wife, Virginia of Kearney, MO; 2 daughters, Alice Renollet (Gene) of Platte City, MO and Ginger Hessel (Skip) of Holt, MO; and 2 sons, Paul True (Sonya) of Orange, CA and Roy True (Karen) of KC, MO; brother, John True (Velma) of Herington, KS; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday Dec 13 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Services 10 AM Wednesday Dec. 14, 2011 at Sherwood Bible Church, 4900 North Norton, KC, MO 64119. Burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to City Union Mission or Wycliffe Associates.
