Rebecca "Becky" Glenn Burch, 81, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Estelle Gladden Glenn. Becky worked for many years as a waitress with Textile Lanes and attended Alexander Memorial Baptist Church. She was active in the Belmont community and formerly served on the Belmont City Council. She was instrumental in getting Walmart to Belmont and starting the Hawley Ave. Community Watch. She is survived by her daughter Vickie Aldridge Franklin and husband Charles A. "Butch" Franklin of Belmont, special grandsons Donnie Franklin and fiancé Julie, Charlie Franklin and wife Dianna, brother Tommy Glenn and wife LuAnne of Shelby, sister Thelma McSwain of Shelby, daughter-in-law Molly Aldridge of Gastonia, grandchildren; Tracy Aldridge, Katie Whitney, Kerry Aldridge, Keighley Aldridge, K.C. Aldridge, great grandchildren; Kaitlyn Franklin, Ashley Parker, Madison Franklin, Jacob Comer, Dalvin Littlejohn, Trey Gordon, Deja Gordon and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her loving husbands Harold Mason Burch and Leem Aldridge, son Ben E. Aldridge, sister Betty Graham and loving pets Rusty and Sabby. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3:00pm, Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors, Belmont. The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Jerry Pennington, will be at 3:00pm in the Bumgardner Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A special thank you to Becky's caregivers Shirley and Tammy and to Gaston Hospice for their loving care and attention.
