Rebecca Callahan McDaniel, 93, widow of Gordon Stovall McDaniel, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born April 19, 1920 to William Daniel and Nora Piercy Callahan, of the Finchley community. A graduate of Boydton High School with the Class of 1939 Rebecca was a member of Fields United Methodist Church. She was an office clerk with Burlington Industries, working there for 34 years. Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Randy Baisey officiating. Entombment will follow at Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery. Rebecca is survived by her sister, Edith Clary of Brodnax and brothers, Clayton Callahan of Clarksville and Meredith Callahan of South Boston. Her niece, Carol Callahan and nephew, Daniel Clary and his wife, Tamara, also survive. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7-8:30 at Watkins Cooper Lyon.
