Mrs. Regina Elizabeth (Rupp) Hockenberry, 92, of Waynesboro, died at 5:01 A.M., Saturday, December 17, 2011, in her home with her loving family around her. Born October 17, 1919 in Williamsport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. Rupp, Sr. and Olive M. (McClanathan) Rupp. She lived her early life in the Williamsport area. Mrs. Hockenberry and her husband, the late Raphael Benedict "Ray" Hockenberry, were married on May 1, 1937. Mr. Hockenberry passed away December 29, 2006. She was employed by Hess Manufacturing Company doing work for the Harold Hess family for over 23 years, retiring in August 1974. Mrs. Hockenberry was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro. She was also a member of South Chapter #2977 AARP, and the National AARP. She is survived by three daughters: Shirley L. Whittington, husband William of Waynesboro, Sonja Ann Stine, husband Allen of Waynesboro, and Dixie J. Lushbaugh, husband Ronald of Hagerstown, MD; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Anderson and Beverly Banchoff, both of Williamsport and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in in death by a grandson John R. Whittington, two sisters, Frances M. Hawbecker and Hazel Faye Rupp and one brother, Harry E. "Junior" Rupp, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 23, 2011, in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. John Bateman and Rev. William Kauffman as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services, Friday morning, in the church. The family request the omission of flowers and contributions may be made to Saint Andrew Catholic School, 12 N. Broad Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268 or St. Jude Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
