I will miss uncle Rusty deeply. Some of my greatest childhood memories involve both Alice and Rusty and what they provided for our entire family. Going to Albuquerque will never be the same. but I will have those memories for the rest of my life.

I was very fond of my Uncle Rusty, his dry sense of humor and quick wit will be sorely missed at our family gatherings. The smell of cigars will always take me back to the living room in the house on Virginia and my Uncle sitting on the couch there. I'm very grateful for the warm, happy memories he left with all of us and grateful he was enjoying life up until the end. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

That was just one incident of which there were many. There was never any need to worry about who was taking care of business as long as Rusty was around. I shall always be grateful for the support and friendship Rusty gave so freely.

Alice, Maude, Paul and family, As usual, John, Kathleen and I were seated next to you and Rusty at dinnertime at Pelican's restaurant a week ago Friday. He was so joyful--laughing along with the rest of us, teasing Theresa, and just plain enjoying himself, the meal, and the company of so many of us. Alice and Catherine and family - I join in your sadness and pray for your comfort. I always felt that I knew "Rusty" even though we rarely actually saw each other! I can remember, as a very young girl, being excited because Gene and Esther were coming back to Iowa for a visit (bringing Reldon) -- we three girls idolized him!
Too bad our lives didn't cross more. It would have been awesome to have been closer!
