Renee was always very proud of her boys and then her grandchildren. She was kind, smart, loving & had a great personality. Renee was a good friend and a joy to be around. We think of her everyday and will miss her forever. To Renee’s family, we are sorry for your great loss. She was an angel and one of a kind.

I was lucky and privileged to work with Renee for several years. Her lively, vibrant personality made the office a fun spot for all those around her. She adored her grandchildren and was always giving us updates on their latest activities. Her trips to see them were highlights in her life. Renee, aka La Jefa, will be missed by many. I send my deepest sympathies to her family.

Renee always brought thoughtful gifts into work during the holiday times. One year she gave me the word "JOY" hanging on a cream colored peace of ribbon. I hung it up then from the light at my cubicle. There it remained hanging year round.

A few year's later after changing jobs, the same gift she gave me still hangs year round in my cube. I was thinking of her last week because this time of year always makes me think of her when she used to write holiday cards for her co-workers.

She was a very thoughtful and giving person.

So sorry to hear that her time here on earth, as we know it, has ended. Since I didn't get to wish her in person this year, I'll take this time to wish her one last time: Happy Hanukkah Renee!

I have so many great memories of Ms. Renee, but one that stands out is when she was leading the coordination efforts for SCORT - an national transportation conference that was put on annually and rotated between the states. It was California's turn and D11 San Diego had been picked as the hosting city. Renee took that conference and the people who assisted her and whipped into a 5-star event. At the end of all of our trials, tribulations and triumphs...Ms. Renee received a standing ovation from the attendees at SCORT - first time that had ever happened and was give high accolades by the head of AASHTO - the sponsor of the event. My sister, Karen, was married to Renee's son, Vince. I met Renee in 1995 just before Karen and Vince were to be married. She was fun to be around, sensible, compassionate, wise, and endearing. She was easy to talk to, and many a time she and I would talk about kids and family. The last time I saw her was during Nossi's Bar Mitzvah in January of this year. There was a lot to talk about during that time and most of it was behind closed doors away from the prying eyes of children. Renee had a lot of character, and she was a good person. She will surely be missed. I miss talking with her. We shared a common thread; cancer.
