Rex E. Young, 61, of Payson, Utah passed away on April 17, 2011. He was born September 8, 1949 in Payson to James Elmer and Venice Pierce Young.

Rex grew up in Payson and graduated from Payson High School, he then went to Auction College. He loved horses, roping, rodeo, hunting, fishing and camping. He owned his own Boot, Shoe & Saddle repair shop, and also worked for Rayloc Auto Parts for 21 years. Rex married Rosemary Ashworth Harward and they were later divorced. He then married Marie Dodds in 1985.

He is survived by his wife Marie and his children: Allan (Brittany) Young, Payson, Utah; Kristie Young, Payson, Utah and his sons-in-law Darius Penrod, and Joe Dutson. He is also survived by his siblings: Rickey (Gloria) Young, Payson, Utah; Steven (Karen) Young, Goshen, Utah; Laurell Sinyard, Payson, Utah; sister-in-law Teresa Young and his eight grandchildren Brettan and Zoey Young, Shandra Smith, Weston and Justin Penrod, Kim Young, and Jordan and Tenisha Dutson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Brett Young, his daughters Pam Young Penrod, and Mistie Young Dutson, and his brother Brad Young.

Funeral services will be held April 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Payson 7th Ward Chapel, 681 East 500 North, Payson, Utah. A viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
