Of Jackson, went to be with the Lord February 24, 2013 age 77 years. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jean L., three daughters; Sandra Willard, Marianne Smith both of Jackson and Nancy (Bob) Chapman of Lansing, two grandchildren Nathan (Anna) Chapman and Kaitlyn Chapman, three great-grandchildren; Amelia, Jonah, and Mason Chapman, one brother Kenneth (Marcia) Hendershot of Rives Junction, nieces and nephews, preceded in death by one grandson Benjamin Willard and one brother Dickie Hendershot. He served the Lord in many capacities, was know as the "Hendershot" family historian for genealogy, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was a member of the Lansing Avenue Baptist church where services will be held Thursday 10:30 am Pastor David Oberst officiating, interment East Rives Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Lansing Avenue Baptist Church 4000 Lansing Ave. Jackson, MI 49202 or the Victims of Violent Crimes Memorial Fund c/o the United Way 312 South Jackson St. Jackson, MI 49201
Visitation at the Watson Funeral Chapel Wednesday 11:00am to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm
