RHONDA FERN YATES, age 55 years of Brooklyn, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Allegiance Health in Jackson. She was born on June 30, 1956 in Wyandotte, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Reid) Oscar. Rhonda married Ed Yates on November 20, 1976 in Brooklyn. He survives. She worked at Wacker Chemical in Adrian for over 26 years. Rhonda loved the lake and being with her children and grandchildren. She was very active member of the Onsted Booster Club and served in many leadership roles. Rhonda is survived by her husband, three children, William Yates of Brooklyn, Sharon (Michael) McDonald of Monroe and Michael (Katie) Yates of Jenison, four grandchildren, Anna, Gracie, Mia and Emma, two brothers, two step-sisters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and step father, Ralph Yeckley. Funeral Services for Rhonda will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Gateway Community Church in Onsted with Dan Chapin officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Shade Cemetery in Onsted. Reception immediately after; back at Gateway Community Church. Visitation will be on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Wildcat Athletic Boosters Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lenawee Community Foundation, PO Box 142, Tecumseh, MI 49286. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Dunn Chapel, Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Onsted.
