Richard A. Baker, 78, of the Country View section of White Township, Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Born on January 27, 1933 in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Harold and Lillian Force Baker. Mr. Baker was retired as the Captain of the Orange Fire Department, Orange, NJ. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Seabees and a member of the F.M.B.A. #500. Mr. Baker was a parishioner of St. Patrick R.C. Church, Belvidere, NJ. Mr. Baker enjoyed his family especially his granddaughters. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Beverly Bayliss Baker; three children, Lori Dwyer and her husband Michael, Steven Baker and his wife Janet, and Richard Allen Baker and his wife Beth; seven granddaughters, Katy, Erin, Alyson, Anna, Denali, Tabitha and Jessica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
