Richard (Dick) Allen Tucker, age 82, Overland Park, passed away on March 14, 2012. Dick was born on November 14, 1929 in Kansas City, Mo., to Earl and Bertha Tucker of Leawood, Kan. He was a 1946 graduate of Southwest High School and attended the University of Kansas. In 1951, on August 25, Dick married the love of his life, Joyce Faye Hoyt, in Kansas City, Mo., at the Ivanhoe Park Congregational Church. Together they were blessed with three daughters, Linda Armstrong, of Florence, AL., Cindy Kling (Mike) of Rolla, MO., and Terri Kornhaus (Tim) of Peachtree City, GA. Dick was the co-owner Kansas City Light and Fixture Company for 29 years. He then worked at Western Chandelier until he retired in 2007. Dick's favorite past time was spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids and great grand kids, whether it was at a family barbeque, watching sports with the guys on the big TV, or just enjoying some conversation with his loved ones. His second "home" was the golf course. He was a master of the links and shot his age at least once every year since he turned 68. He played on courses from coast to coast and even a few overseas, but his favorite was his home course, Eagles Landing. Throughout Dick's golfing career, he played in and won many tournaments, and even won a Buick for hitting a hole in 1 in 1996. The many friends Dick made on the links will miss him and his easy going ways and his cheerful banter. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce, and his three daughters; and his six grandchildren; Jenny (Kevin) Macfee of Campbell, CA., Allen (Cori) Hare of Rossville, Kan., Adam (Andrea) Kling of Del Rio, TX., Spencer (Paige) Kling of Valdosta, GA., Bryan (Ashley) Kornhaus of Riverview, FL., and Scott Kornhaus of Peachtree City, GA., and three great granddaughters, Sarah Kate Macfee, and Abigail and Allison Kornhaus. A memorial service will be held Wednesday March 21 at 10:00 AM at Christ Church-Anglican, 5500 W 91st St., Overland Park, Kan., where he had been a member for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church.
