Gross, Richard "Rick" C., 60, of Thorofare formerly of Saddle Brook, suddenly on April 2, 2010.

Legacy

Mr. Rick, as he was known to his students, was a caring and compassionate man. While at Seton Hall, Rick volunteered at Camp Merry Heart, which led to his degree in Special Education at Glassboro State College. A practical, hands-on teacher of the handicapped, Mr. Rick regularly taught life skills including cooking to his students at St. John of God School in Westville, National Park, and the Regional Day School in Mannington. His many hobbies included reading and collecting sci-fi memorabilia. Rick had a huge collection of mini-bottles and sold many collectibles at the Old Mill in Mullica Hill as well as other markets, and on e-Bay as Taj Garage. He and his wife also once owned and operated a Hillary's gourmet ice cream shop in Hightstown.

Family

Rick is the loving husband of Catherine (Gladney-Gross); beloved father of Kevin; dear brother of Cheryl and Stephen (Marcela) Gross; cherished son-in-law of Theresa Brennan-Gladney; devoted brother-in-law of 6; loving uncle of 7; adoring grand uncle of nearly 7; devoted teacher to many.

Farewell Service

A viewing will be held from 5:30 PM until 9 PM Wednesday and 11AM-Noon Thursday in the McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter St. Woodbury. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday. Interment will be held in Wenonah Cemetery.
