REHOBOTH – French, Richard E., age 78, of Bay State Rd., died at home, Friday, May 7, 2010. He was the husband of Muriel F. (Munroe) French. Born on March 2, 1932, in No. Dighton, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Grace E. (Barney) French. Mr. French was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and former Trustee of the Rehoboth Congregational Church, where he also was the former Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, former head usher, and former member of the music committee and Mission committee. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he leaves his children, Karen L. Goulart of Little Compton, RI, Kerri Jean Williams of Newtown, CT, and Kevin R. French of No. Dighton; and his five grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Nicholas, Nathan and Rachel. He was also the brother of David A. French of Westboro and Barbara A. Deane of Eastham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, at 10am at the Rehoboth Congregational Church, Bay State Rd., Rehoboth. Burial will be in the Rehoboth Village Cemetery. Arrangements by the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, East Providence, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rehoboth Congregational Church, 139 Bay State Rd., PO Box 325, Rehoboth, MA 02769.
