Richard E. Lehman Obituary


Mr. Richard E. "Dick" Lehman, 65, of 6747 Horst Rd., Chambersburg, PA died Saturday, January 17, 2009 in his home. He had been in failing health for the past three years and critically ill for two week.

Born April 23, 1943 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Florence I. (Randall) Lehman, Hagerstown, MD and the late Chester G. Lehman. He spent his early life in Williamson, PA.

Mr. Lehman attended St. Thomas schools.

He and his wife, Arlene F. (Faust) Lehman, were married on October 26, 1973 in Hagerstown. They lived at their current residence for the past thirty years.

Mr. Lehman worked on a farm in his early years and later as a chipper and grinder for the former Chambersburg Engineering and most recently for TB Woods, Chambersburg.

He attended Antrim Assembly of God Church, Greencastle, PA and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters: Tina Bear, Chambersburg, Tanya Mentzer, Greencastle; a son: Michael Lehman, Chambersburg; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; four sisters: Cinda L. Pittman, Greencastle, Delta R. Oberholzer, Greencastle, Shirley L. Amis, Chambersburg, LaVonne I. Tobias, Waynesboro; three brothers: Roy L. Lehman, Chambersburg, Ronald E. Lehman, Winchester, VA, Gerald Lehman, Williamson; and several nieces and nephews.

Both, his father and brother, John L. Lehman, preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Garden, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friend from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday in the funeral home.
