MOUNTZ, RICHARD H. ("RICK"), age 53 of Winter Park, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was born in Springfield, Illinois on March 14, 1958. After moving to Florida in 1965, Rick attended Lake Sybelia Elementary School, Maitland and Winter Park Junior High and graduated from Gulf High School in New Port Richey, Florida in 1976. He then served in the United States Navy on the USS Forrestal until 1980. Rick then began working in the food service industry with Bass & Swaggerty, White Swan (6 years), Sysco Food Service (11 years) and more recently C and G Food Brokerage, Inc. (4.5 years). Rick is predeceased by his father, Robert E.; brother, William R. ("Bill"); and sister, Ruth Marie. Survivors are Sandy Best, Rick's fiancé; daughters, Anne Marie and Julie Bacon Mountz; mother, Shirley Bacon Mountz; sisters, Marsha Mountz, Carol Mathews (Ken) and Linda Capehart (Chris). Rick's happiest memories were those spent at the beach, particularly New Smyrna and Melbourne. He would walk the beach for hours. A celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park at 125 N. Interlachen Ave., Winter Park, FL 32789. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Rick's memory to The American Heart Assoc. at 237 Marks St, Orlando, FL 32803.
