Richard L" Dick". McVey, 82 of Kansas City, MO, passed away November 21, 2011. A visitation will be 2:00pm to 4:00pm Saturday November 26, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Dick was preceded in death by his parents James Louis and Valine McVey, and brother Earl Dean McVey.Survivors include his wife of 61 years Marceta McVey, one daughter Deborah L. Wolfe(Jerry). Grandchildren Rachel and Jason Wolfe (Tricia), great- grandchildren Johnna, Brady, Jorja, Jillian, Jozee, Joleea and great great grandchild Ayden. Brother James Roger McVey of Washington, 2 sisters Pauline Weishaar and Jeanne Daniels (Jerry) both of Florida. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Dick graduated from Effingham High School in 1947, and later became Police Officer in Topeka, KS for ten years. He became a pilot in the early 60's, and an instructor. Dick was a private pilot for Ozark National Life for ten years. Then he joined as a Charter pilot & aircraft salesman for Executive Beachcraft until his retirement. Dick loved driving his corvettes and riding his motorcycles. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed traveling in his motorhome. Dick finally fulfilled his lifelong dream and sky dived at the age of 80 years old, with his daughter and grandson. In lieu of flowers make donation to The American Cancer Society 1100 Pennsylvania Ave, KCMO 64105.
