Richard "Beeter" Abram Piekkola, age 53, of Ottertail, MN, died on Friday, June 16, 2006. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Schoeneberger Funeral Home, Perham, MN, at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, New York Mills, MN.

Richard was born March 24, 1953, in Wadena, MN, the son of Herbert and Jennie (Ahlgren) Piekkola. Richard was a world traveler and had visited 38 countries and spoke 5 languages. He worked on and designed 48 golf courses around the world including working with Robert Jones II and Jack Nicklaus.

Richard is survived by two sisters, Shirley (Glen) Anderson, Rapid City, SD; and Sharon (Rick) Lopez, CO; two nieces; four nephews; and three great nieces.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert.
