Richard R. Potter, Jr., age 60, of Clarks Summit, passed away Sunday evening under the care of VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Dora Madrid. Wed on February 16, 1995, the couple were married for 16 years. Born in New Castle, son of the late Richard, Sr., and Catherine Caruthers Potter, Richard had most recently worked as a chemist for UGL. A Grand Poobah in the Elks Lodge, his favorite hobby was playing golf. A loving husband, father and brother, he will be dearly missed. He is also survived by his children, Richard, III, a sophomore at Scranton Preparatory School, and James and Judy, both of Long View, Washington; siblings, Robert Potter, Sandra Puchalski, Laura Russell and Kathleen Summers, all residing in California; and two grandchildren, Amadeo and Diego. Private arrangements are being handled by the Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, West Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 301 Delaware Avenue Olyphant, 18447.
