Richard Ray Hansen

On November 3, 2010, Dick’s valiant and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s came to an end.

He was born August 20, 1936 in Provo, Utah to Raynold Afton Hansen and Melba Nettie Smith Hansen. Married Myrna Roundy on June 1, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple.

He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Myrna Roundy Hansen, daughter Robyn (Christopher) Grable, son Phillip (Valerie) Hansen, son David (Kay) Hansen, daughter Colette (Kelly) Farr, daughter Linda (Ed) Askew, 22 grandchildren (two deceased) and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dick graduated from BYU with an Industrial Engineering degree. He worked at Lockheed Martin for 5 years, Kennecott Copper for 21 years, LDS Church Security for 10 years and 15 years with his son, Phillip, doing model work at Design Dental Ceramics.

Faithful member of the LDS Church, he fulfilled many callings. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raynold and Melba Hansen, siblings Robert Hansen, Joyce Bown, and Janet Earl and his in-laws Miles and Elaine Roundy.

A Celebration of Life and Viewing will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the LDS Chapel on 2700 West 5800 South at 11:00 am.

A special thank you to Lakeview Hospital for their tender and loving care and Hearts of Hospice, especially Joe Spencer for his compassionate care.

He is now free to continue his eternal journey. Bye for now, Honey.
